Substations

A substation is a vital part of an electrical reticulation system (generation, transmission and distribution of electricity) Substations convert high voltage electricity to low voltage. By the time electricity reaches the end user, it may flow through a number of substations.

Substations house transformers to change the voltage levels from high transmission voltages to lower distribution voltage for the end user.

Generally, in South Africa, substations are owned by government controlled municipalities.

Maritz Electrical is an empowerment company established by Kurt Maritz. Delivering service excellence and exceptional quality are key differentiators for Maritz Electrical and what clients have come to expect from this service supplier.
